Brazilian Delegation Meets with ASTM Staff Member

A Brazilian delegation met with James Olshefsky, director of external relations, ASTM International, on May 13 in Baltimore, Maryland. The delegation was participating in a U.S. Trade and Development Agency Reverse Trade Mission. The program, implemented by Advanced Engineering Associates International, was aimed at sharing best practices with U.S.-domiciled water and wastewater utilities, regulators, financing entities and technology providers.

Much of the discussion during the meeting surrounded ASTM's standards for water developed by ASTM International Committee D19 on Water. More than 60 standards from Committee D19 are referenced by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in the Code of Federal Regulations under the Clean Water Act.
