Protective Coatings for Hydroelectric Facilities

ASTM is launching a new subcommittee that will develop test methods and specifications for coatings and linings used in hydroelectric power plants.  The new group is part of the Committee on Protective Coatings and Lining Work for Power Generation Facilities (D33).

Subcommittee D33.13 on Protective Coatings and Linings for Hydroelectric Power Generation Facilities will address abrasion, corrosion, impact from logs and trees, high water flow environments, and more.

Owners and operators of hydroelectric power generation facilities, including the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, will be the primary users of standards from the new subcommittee.

All interested parties are invited to join D33.13 in developing new test methods and specifications. Interested parties should contact ASTM staff manager Joe Hugo (see below).

ASTM welcomes participation in the development of its standards. Become a member at www.astm.org/JOIN.
