On Oct. 1-2, Richard Szecsy, a member of ASTM International Committee C09 on Concrete and Concrete Aggregates, led a training session in cooperation with the Standardization Organization for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GSO) during their program held in Doha, Qatar. GSO has been active in promoting ASTM International standards in the Gulf Cooperation Council region since signing a memorandum of understanding with ASTM in February 2006.

One of GSO's stated goals for the training was to build consensus on common rules to establish a green building code that will contribute to environmentally sustainable development in the GCC region. More 25 participants attended the training.
