On Dec. 6, 2012, Mr. Ma Lincong, president of the China National Institute for Standardization, an ASTM cooperative partner in China since 2003, led a delegation visit to ASTM headquarters. Ma has worked with ASTM since 1991 when ASTM and the China Association for Standardization began jointly publishing an annual edition of Standardization News in Chinese. Now, a China Standardization Press is part of CNIS, and Chinese SN is published biannually.

ASTM International was the sole U.S.-based international standards development organization that Ma elected to visit; he led a delegation of five CNIS staff to discuss new developments within the two organizations and opportunities for further collaboration. Among the topics discussed were ASTM's certification and environmental product declaration programs, continued cooperation on the publication of SN, and academic outreach and tools for professors.
