ASTM Sponsor University of Akron WISE Intern
ASTM has chosen Nicholas M. D'Angelo Jr., a corrosion engineering student at the University of Akron, as the student we are sponsoring this summer for the 2016 Washington Internships for Students of Engineering program.
WISE is a 10-week summer program held in Washington, D.C. Interns are outstanding third- or fourth-year engineering students selected in a nationwide competition. During their stay, interns learn about the public policy process, including how engineers can contribute to legislative and regulatory public policy decisions.
D'Angelo is particularly interested in the effect of corrosion-related issues on public safety and the economy. During his WISE internship, D'Angelo hopes to explore the possibilities of thoughtful public policy applied to the challenges posed by corrosion.
