ASTM Connects with Students in Mexico, India
Academic Outreach
ASTM International is continuing its efforts to interact with students throughout the world, as evidenced by recent events in Mexico and India.
On June 24, Luis Ordonez and Vanessa Corona, ASTM's representatives in Mexico, visited the Universidad Politécnica de Querétaro and encouraged both students and professors there to participate in ASTM's student outreach activities. The visit was arranged through Amador del Prado, a UPQ professor who teaches manufacturing and mechatronics engineering.
On July 14, ASTM staff members participated in a virtual meeting with students from the Advanced Academy for Development of Textile Technologists in New Bombay, India. The purpose of the event was to introduce students to ASTM International and the benefits of student membership. Eighteen students attended the meeting from the campus of AADTT. AADTT is a post-university institute at which textile technologists receive training and industry experience.
The virtual meeting was arranged in India by Jayakumar Gopalakrishnan, ASTM textile instructor and technical and service consultant in India.
