ASTM International and the Kosovo Standardization Agency agreed to a memorandum of understanding in December 2013, and the MOU was signed by Hafiz Gara, executive director, Kosovo Standardization Agency, and James A. Thomas, president, ASTM International.

The ASTM/KSA MOU is the 86th such agreement signed under ASTM's global cooperation program. Initiated in 2001, the MOU program promotes communication between ASTM and national standards bodies worldwide, fostering awareness of the standardization systems of all parties involved.
