ASTM Chief Representative in China Appears at Spring Events

Liu Fei, chief representative, ASTM China office, makes a presentation at the Zhongguancun Science Park in Beijing, China, on March 30.

Liu Fei, chief representative, ASTM International China office, presented information about ASTM and standardization to audiences at three different events over the course of a week this spring:

  • On March 26, Liu Fei lectured to more than 160 students and professors at the College of Standardization of China Jiliang University;
  • On March 30, he spoke to 60 students in the MBA program at the Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications; and
  • On April 1, an audience of more than 120, including standards officials and experts from the Beijing quality and technical supervision community, heard Liu Fei speak at the Beijing Zhongguancun Science Park.

Topics addressed during the three presentations included:

  • The ASTM standards development system and process;
  • Copyright issues;
  • The diversity of standardization systems throughout the world; and
  • The importance of standardization in global markets.
