Liu Fei, chief representative, ASTM International China office, provided training to Changsha Kaiyuan Instruments Co. Ltd., located in Changsha, People's Republic of China, in late October 2013. The training provided insight about the benefits of ASTM membership, the standards development process and how to obtain ASTM standards. CKIC is an instrument manufacturer whose products are used in the coal industry; the company is interested in understanding how standards facilitate market access and enable technology transfer.
