ASTM Committee on Reactive and Refractory Metals Seeks Ogden Award Nominations
Committee B10 on Reactive and Refractory Metals and Alloys seeks nominations for the H.R. (Russ) Ogden Memorial Award, which recognizes individuals who have made distinguished contributions to the science and technology of reactive and refractory metals. Nominees need not be ASTM International members.
Any or all of the following achievements will be considered as the basis for giving the award:
- Marked achievement in technical advancement, such as alloy development, corrosion research, properties improvement and methods of manufacture;
- Marked leadership in the technical application of reactive and refractory metals in the industrial society;
- Marked leadership in the manufacturing or marketing of reactive and refractory metals; and
- Outstanding service in this field that is not recognized by another ASTM award.
The H.R. (Russ) Ogden Award, established in 1983 in honor of the first chairman of Committee B10, may be presented annually to one recipient. Nominations are due May 1 in the form of a letter describing the nominee and outlining the special service on which the award would be based.
