Event to Focus on Policy-Related Issues Pertaining to Energy, Manufacturing and Research

ASTM International is among the co-sponsors of the 2014 Engineering Public Policy Symposium, which will be held April 29 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Room B338-339-340 of the Rayburn House Office Building in Washington, D.C.

Policy-related issues concerning energy, manufacturing and research will be the focus of this year's symposium, which is an invitation-only event. Officials from U.S. President Obama's administration, members of the U.S. Congress and their staffs will be invited to attend to discuss policy priorities and the budget for the second session of the 113th Congress. Interested symposium attendees will have the opportunity to meet with their members of Congress during the afternoon to discuss and advocate for important issues for the engineering community.

The American Society of Mechanical Engineers is the lead organizer of the symposium, which is funded by a grant provided by the United Engineering Foundation. The symposium will be convened in conjunction with the National Academy of Engineering's Convocation of the Engineering Professional Societies and the American Association of Engineering Societies reception and awards event.
