ASTM Executives Speak at Moscow Standards Conference

ASTM staff members John Pace, vice president, Publications and Marketing; and James S. Thomas, assistant vice president, Sales and Marketing, spoke at a conference on the practical use of international standards in Moscow, Russia, on April 12. The event was held at the headquarters of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.
The conference opened with welcomes from Andrey Lotsmanov, first vice chairman, RSPP Committee for Technical Regulation and Conformity Assessment; Alexey Abramov, head of the Federal Agency on Technical Regulation and Metrology; and Konstantin Leonidov, director of the Department of State Policy in the sphere of technical regulation and uniformity of measurements of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.
During their presentation, Pace and Thomas covered ASTM Compass, online education for ASTM oil and gas standards in Russia, available ASTM workshops for Russian companies and consulting possibilities for Russian companies.
