Sarah Naouri, manager, global cooperation, ASTM International, recently spoke at a program coordinated by ASTM and the Qatar General Organization for Standards and Metrology (QS). Jaber Al-Naimi, standardization officer, QS, began the program, which took place at the Ministry of Environment in Doha, Qatar, with an overview of QS.

Naouri followed with a presentation on ASTM International, its MOU program and the ASTM standardization process.

Nick Ecart, director of sales, Europe and Middle East, ASTM, spoke about ASTM standards for construction and energy and access to ASTM standards.

Attendees included representatives from the Qatar Ministry of Environment, Ashghal (Public Works Authority), Qatar Petroleum and Qatar Gas, among others. The goal of the program was to strengthen the relationship of ASTM and QS, as well as to speak on future collaboration activities. ASTM and QS signed an MOU in 2007.
