Christine DeJong, committee manager, ASTM International, and Kimberly Simms, manager, global cooperation, ASTM, conducted a training session at ASTM headquarters on Oct. 29, 2014. for a delegation of aviation executives from Africa.

The delegation was sponsored by the U.S. Commerce Department and the U.S. Trade and Development Agency. Attendees hailed from Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia. ASTM has a memorandum of understanding with the national standards body of each of these countries.

During the session, DeJong and Simms discussed the international scope of ASTM, with a special emphasis on aviation-related committees and standards.
