ASTM International to Host Workshop on Declarable Substances

The ASTM International committee on declarable substances in materials (F40) is sponsoring the Workshop on Current Global Substance Restriction and Standardization Activities in Materials Used in Electrical and Electronic Equipment on April 2, at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel, Colorado, USA. The workshop will take place in conjunction with the April standards development meetings of the committee. 

The workshop’s objective is to provide an informative update of the global substance restriction and standardization activities for international regulations. Possible topics of discussion include:

·   F40 committee activity updates

·   ISO Technical Committee 111 Work Group 3 updates and future collaborations

·   U.S. organohalogen flame retardants guidance

·   China restriction of hazardous substances guidance

·   E.U. REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restrictions of Chemicals) and RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) regulations
