ASTM International Hosts Workshop on Copper and Copper Alloys
Members of the ASTM International copper and copper alloys committee (B05) are sponsoring a workshop on April 3 at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel, Colorado, USA, that will provide an update on regulatory affairs that concern and affect copper and copper alloys. The workshop will take place in conjunction with the standards development meetings of the committee.
The workshop leaders will provide an update on the regulatory landscape for copper-based products. The entire value chain will be considered including issues that affect the upstream production of raw materials such as responsible sourcing, as well as the downstream fabrication and use of finished products. According to organizers, North American regulations will be discussed, as well as policies stemming from other jurisdictions that may set important precedents.
Carrie Claytor, director of health, environment, and sustainable development for the Copper Development Association, is slated to present.
Registration questions can be directed to the ASTM International symposia department (symposia@astm.org). To register for the event, visit www.astm.org/B05WorkshopRegApril2019.
