
ASTM Staff Meet with Afghan Engineers

On April 27, ASTM staff met with two Afghan engineers at ASTM's Washington, D.C., office. The visit focused on discussion about the U.S. standardization system and ASTM's standardization process. Jamil Khalid is a professor of engineering at Kabul University as well as the president of the Society of Afghan Architects. Dalia Akbarmir is an engineer and procurement officer at the Afghanistan Ministry of Public Works. The delegates were in the United States for two weeks meeting with various organizations as part of a trip sponsored by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.
