ASTM Staff Meet with Delegation from Vietnam Steel Association
Export Issues and Global Use of ASTM Standards Discussed
On Sept. 21, Vietnam Steel Association staff and members met with ASTM International's Jeffrey Grove, vice president, global policy and industry affairs, and Kevin Shanahan, manager, committee services, at the ASTM Washington, D.C., office. Led by Dinh Huy Tam, VSA vice chairman and general secretary, the delegation included 12 representatives of steel companies based in Vietnam.
During the meeting, Grove and Shanahan presented an overview of ASTM's steel and related standards development activities. ASTM staff also addressed topics including the global use of ASTM standards and technical cooperative programs with the Vietnam Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality. VSA delegation members provided an introduction to the steel industry of Vietnam and discussed its interest in exporting on a worldwide basis.
