ASTM International staff members Sarah Naouri and James Olshefsky met with three officials from Indonesia's national standardization agency, Badan Standardisasi Nasional, and the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Washington, D.C., on Dec. 21, 2011. Since August 2004, when ASTM signed a memorandum of understanding with BSN, more than 200 ASTM International standards have been either referenced or used as the basis of national standards in Indonesia. Much of the discussion during the meeting surrounded future training opportunities and other joint programs intended to strengthen the relationship between ASTM and BSN. From left to right: Dandy S.
