With the help of the Guyana National Bureau of Standards, James Olshefsky, ASTM staff, met with Verlyn Klass, dean of the faculty of technology, University of Guyana, and Maxwell Jackson, head of the university's civil engineering department, to discuss the tools and resources available from ASTM International for students and professors. ASTM's Standards on Campus and project grant programs were discussed in detail. University of Guyana students are exposed to ASTM standards beginning in their freshman year.
