ASTM staff members Timothy Brooke, John Gallagher, and Nick Ecart presented a workshop in Abu Dhabi and visited organizations in Kuwait in October. Over 60 staff from laboratories throughout the United Arab Emirates attended the Oct. 11 workshop at the Sheraton Abu Dhabi. During the presentation, Brooke, Gallagher, and Ecart described ASTM’s Proficiency Testing Programs, classroom and online training, and ASTM Compass®, the online platform for accessing the latest ASTM standards. 

During their trip, the ASTM staffers also visited the Kuwait Petroleum Corp. and the Kuwait Institute of Scientific Research.

KPC is a leader in providing clean energy to global markets. The ASTM team met with the products development and quality control department led by Alaa Al-Naqi (not pictured). Representatives from Kuwait Oil Co. and Kuwait National Petroleum Co. were also in attendance. KPC conducts most of its tests using ASTM standards. 

ASTM staff members Timothy Brooke, Nick Ecart, and John Gallager met with program managers and technicians from the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research - The Petroleum Research Center. The PRC aims to achieve its vision through collaboration with international partners. PRC uses ASTM Compass® and online ASTM e-learning courses for petroleum laboratory technicians. PRC conducts most of its tests using ASTM standards.
