ASTM Staff Visit Vietnam National Standards Body
ASTM International staff members Teresa Cendrowska, vice president, global cooperation, and Liu Fei, chief representative in ASTM's China office, participated in a training session held at the Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality (STAMEQ) - the national standards body of Vietnam - on May 12 in Hanoi. The session opened with the formal presentation of a certificate of recognition for 10 years of collaboration and partnership through the memorandum of understanding between ASTM and STAMEQ.
During the training, Cendrowska and Liu Fei presented five training modules to STAMEQ staff and industry participants. Topics included:
- An overview of ASTM;
- The MOU between ASTM and STAMEQ;
- ASTM technical committee membership;
- Technical committee structure and process;
- ASTM website tools for members;
- ASTM standards for the energy sector, particularly the work of Committee D02 on Petroleum, Liquid Fuels and Lubricants; and
- ASTM standards for environmental stewardship.
