ASTM's China Office Welcomes New Members

Staff from ASTM International's China Office in Beijing conducted an orientation session for new ASTM members on Sept. 18. Information was provided on the benefits of ASTM membership, the standards development process, global application and copyright. In addition, Kitty Pilarz, 2011 chairman of the ASTM board of directors, and senior director of product safety, Mattel/Fisher-Price, East Aurora, N.Y., gave a presentation on the interaction between industry and standards development. Pilarz's lecture illustrated the value of ASTM standards and the importance of standards development for industry.
