On Nov. 12, a delegation led by Yao Ping, deputy director general, Beijing Municipal Administration of Quality and Technical Supervision, Beijing, China, visited ASTM headquarters in West Conshohocken, Pa. The delegation included representatives from Beijing municipal standardization entities such as the Beijing Standardization Institute and the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission.

The delegation met with representatives of ASTM's Global Cooperation division to learn about the ASTM standards development process and its model for participation. These topics are of interest as the Beijing Standardization Institute provides standardization information and assists in standards development for stakeholders within the Zhongguancun Standard Innovation Service Center, a science park focused on technological innovation, development and industrial structures.
