On Oct. 21, 2010, Cesar Constantino, director of process and quality, Titan America, and member of ASTM Committees C01 on Cement and C09 on Concrete and Concrete Aggregates, traveled to Bogotá, Colombia, to participate in a program hosted by the Office of Technical Standards within Colombia's Ministry of National Defense. The topic of Constantino's presentation was "The Role of Research in the Standardization Process," in which he shared best practices, experiences and lessons learned in incorporating current research into technical standards.
