Chinese Delegation Visits ASTM Headquarters

The 38-member orientation delegation that visited ASTM International headquarters on Sept. 27 was the largest group from one nation that ASTM has hosted.

On Sept. 27, ASTM International conducted an orientation for two delegations from China. The 38 delegates, from Jiangsu Province and Xinjiang in the Uygur Autonomous Region, visited ASTM International headquarters to learn about the society, its development process, the application of ASTM standards by the U.S. federal government as well as globally, and ASTM's relationship with and work in the People's Republic of China.

The delegates, all of whom use standards regularly, represented standardization institutes, measurement and testing technology institutes, and quality and technical inspection bureaus in China. The visit was initiated by APAE Executive Training Group (USA) Inc. and FCC Group International (USA) Inc. respectively.
