Attendees at the Pan American Standards Commission 2014 annual general assembly in Havana, Cuba.

James Olshefsky, director, external relations, ASTM International, was among the attendees at the Pan American Standards Commission (COPANT) annual general assembly on April 21-24 in Havana, Cuba. The COPANT General Assembly provides members from throughout Latin America and the Caribbean with an opportunity to share information about local and regional standardization efforts as well as to discuss current global topics such as sustainability and renewable energy.

In addition to attending assembly meetings, Olshefsky presented information on best practices in standards education at the workshop, Building the Future of Standardization in COPANT, on the second day of the meetings.
