EIFL Agreement Provides Access to ASTM Abstracts
ASTM has signed a signed a three-year agreement with EIFL (Electronic Information for Libraries), a not-for-profit organization that works with libraries to provide access to knowledge in developing countries.
The agreement gives library consortia and institutions in 34 EIFL partner countries free access to an abstract-only version of ASTM Compass, a collection of standards and other technical engineering information, including 1,700 technical e-books, eight journals and assorted research information. In addition, institutions and consortia in these countries are eligible for a heavily-discounted subscription to the full-text version of ASTM Compass.
ASTM Compass is a useful resource for technical universities, libraries or research institutes, and is used by undergraduate students, professors, staff, postgraduate students and researchers. The agreement runs until December 2019.
Many of the countries eligible to participate in the EIFL agreement are also among ASTM’s memorandum of understanding partners.
