Former ASTM Board Chairman Visits University of Illinois

On Sept. 15, Anthony Fiorato, Ph.D., former chairman of the ASTM International board of directors and current chairman of Committee C09 on Concrete and Concrete Aggregates, spoke to a group of students in the School of Architecture at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Fiorato spoke to a methods and materials class, sharing insights on the importance of codes and standards that he has learned over the course of his career. Fiorato has lectured and published extensively for more than 35 years, and his contributions have been recognized with numerous professional awards.Professor Gaines Hall, who teaches the methods and materials course, reported that the students learned a great deal from Fiorato's presentation that will be applicable to their careers as architects.
