W.T. Cavanaugh Memorial Award

ASTM International is seeking nominations for the William T. Cavanaugh Memorial Award. This annual award is granted to a person of widely recognized eminence in the standards system who has made extraordinary contributions to the field of national and international voluntary standards.Nominees for the Cavanaugh Memorial Award may or may not be members of ASTM International, and the title of honorary member is bestowed on all of its recipients. Established in 1987, the award honors William T. Cavanaugh, who served as chief executive officer of ASTM from 1970 until 1985. During his service, Cavanaugh firmly established ASTM as the world leader in the development and dissemination of voluntary consensus standards.Nominations should describe each candidate's qualifications as completely as possible. Nomination packages should include relevant information about the candidate's professional background; outstanding contributions made within ASTM International as well as other standards organizations or professional societies; and all offices and special positions held in each organization.In addition, any of the candidate's accomplishments to advance the efforts of the global standards community should be specifically identified, including standards interaction with governments, industry or academia, as well as any past honors, citations and awards that relate to voluntary standards. No more than two individuals will be selected for the Cavanaugh Award in a single year.The deadline for submissions is April 1. Dudley Medal

The ASTM International Committee on Publications is soliciting candidate publications from ASTM committees for the Charles B. Dudley Medal Award. Each committee may submit one publication for consideration.

The award honors an outstanding contribution that has a widely recognized impact on a particular field of ASTM interest and has been documented in ASTM literature. A minimum of three years must have elapsed between the date of publication of a nominee and the nomination deadline of April 15.

Ogden Memorial Award

Committee B10 on Reactive and Refractory Metals and Alloys seeks nominations for the H.R. (Russ) Ogden Memorial Award, which recognizes individuals who have made distinguished contributions to the science and technology of reactive and refractory metals. Nominees need not be ASTM International members.

Any or all of the following achievements will be considered as the basis for giving the award:

The H.R. (Russ) Ogden Award, established in 1983 in honor of the first chairman of Committee B10, may be presented annually to one recipient.

Frank W. Reinhart Award

Nominations are sought for the 2010 Frank W. Reinhart Award, which honors a technical committee, a subcommittee or an individual ASTM member who has made outstanding and unusual contributions to the organization in the realm of terminology standardization.The award, established in 1981, honors the late Reinhart, who was active in ASTM terminology work for many years. Reinhart exemplified the intent of the award through his dedication to the use of correct and appropriate technical terminology in ASTM standards.The Subcommittee on Form and Style of the Committee on Standards administers the Reinhart Award. Walter C. Voss Award

Nominations are requested for the 2010 Walter C. Voss Award to recognize outstanding contributions to advancing knowledge in the building technology field. The award honors longtime member and former chair of Committee C07 on Lime, Walter C. Voss.Presented to an engineer, scientist or other professional in the trade, both ASTM members and nonmembers are eligible. Nominations should indicate how the nominee has contributed to advancing knowledge in the building technology field. Emphasis should be placed on those using materials that have led to significant advances, innovation or creative efforts that have benefited the entire construction industry and encouraged its fundamental development.Nominations documenting the contributions of the candidate must be postmarked no later than Aug. 1.
