Korean Standards Expert to Visit ASTM International

KATSYoungkook Kim, the assistant director of the international standards division at the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards, will begin an extended stay at ASTM International headquarters in March. During his 11-month visit, Kim will focus on sports equipment and textiles. He will also be investigating ways to improve private sector participation from within South Korea in ASTM International standards development.

 

 

 

ASTM International Staff and Members Meet in Milan

ASTM International staff members visited Thermo Fisher Scientific in Milan, Italy, on Feb. 20. Guido Giazzi, organic elemental analysis product manager, is a member of ASTM International’s committee on carbon black (D24), as well as the committee on petroleum products, liquid fuels, and lubricants (D02). Thermo is potentially interested in other ASTM International committees, including those on rubber and rubber-like materials (D11) and recovered carbon black (D36).

ASTM Staff Attend Program
for Sri Lanka Ministry of Commerce

Teresa Cendrowska, vice president of global cooperation, presented to a group of nine newly selected commercial attachés from the Sri Lanka Ministry of Commerce about ASTM International, SEI, and the importance of international standards and regulations. The workshop was hosted through the U.S. Commercial Law Development Program organized by the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Nominating Committee Welcomes Suggestions for ASTM International Board

ASTM International members are invited to nominate candidates for these positions on the 2019 board of directors: chairman (one-year term); vice chairman (two-year term); and six directors (three-year terms). Nominations must be received by April 1.

ASTM International Annual Business Meeting
