Standards Experts from Costa Rica and Indonesia to Train at ASTM
Representatives from the standards developing organizations of Costa Rica and Indonesia will participate in ASTM's Standards Expert Program June 1-25. Francesca Rappaccioli, Technical Standards Institute of Costa Rica, and Dini Apriori, Badan Standardisasi Nasional, will be this year's participants in the program, which is part of ASTM's memorandum of understanding initiative.
During their training, Rappaccioli and Apriori will learn about the ASTM standards developing process, travel to the ASTM committee week in Anaheim, California, and visit Washington, D.C., to meet with agency representatives and share information about their work and home organizations.
Francesca Rappaccioli, an industrial engineer, serves at a technical secretary at INTECO, the national standards body of Costa Rica. Rappaccioli contributes to the development of Costa Rican national standards, many of which are based on ASTM standards. She oversees technical committees for INTECO on accessibility, food, health and information technology.
Dini Apriori was educated as a microbiologist. At BSN, Indonesia's national standards body, Apriori coordinates and evaluates three technical committees on textiles and related products and the environment.
Apriori has coordinated the adoption and use of ASTM standards at BSN.
