Zhejiang Province Delegation Visits ASTM for Intensive Training

A 14-member delegation comprising individuals engaged in manufacturing and exporting in the Zhejiang Province of China visited ASTM International headquarters in West Conshohocken, Pa., for four weeks of intensive training from Nov. 13 to Dec. 11, 2013. Training focused on ASTM standards pertaining to renewable energy (particularly solar) and roofing, as well as ASTM's standards development process.
In addition to attending training sessions at ASTM International headquarters, the delegation spent several days in meetings in Washington, D.C., made site visits in the Philadelphia area and traveled to the ASTM December committee week in Jacksonville, Fla.
Among the site visits were trips to Carlisle Construction Products in Carlisle, Pa.; Architectural Testing in York, Pa.; and Temple University in Philadelphia, Pa. The delegation also had the opportunity to formally present information about their Zhejiang Province to ASTM staff.
