ASTM International to Host November Workshop on Substance Restriction Challenges and Standardization

ASTM International’s committee on declarable substances in materials (F40) is sponsoring a workshop on Substance Restriction Challenges and Standardization, Nov. 8, 2017, at the DIN Headquarters in Berlin, Germany.  

This workshop will discuss international and broad perspectives of RoHS and REACH. It will also review practical testing for California’s Prop 65 and give an industry perspective on REACH compliance with a focus on phthalates. Time will be available for discussion on all subjects on the agenda:

  • DIN input, 
  • STM EU-Brussels office topics, 
  • Possible EU speakers on Circular Economy, 
  • IEC/UL update on Halogen Content in Materials Standardization and Testing, 
  • INTEL update on declarable substances process and status from a global view, 
  • IEC/Sony: EEE Product/Material Emissions, 
  • CEN/CENELEC in China on China RoHS, and 
  • Update on Prop 65.
