A proppsed new ASTM International standard provides basic safety and performance requirements for inflatable devices that use a constant flow of air. ASTM WK15351, Consumer Safety Specification for Constant Air Inflatable Play Devices for Home Use, is being developed by Subcommittee F15.61 on Constant Air Inflatable Play Devices for Home Use, part of ASTM International Committee F15 on Consumer Products.

According to David Dick, senior technical engineer, technical services, Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services Inc., and chairman of F15.61, users of WK15351 will include manufacturers of constant air inflatables, retailers that sell such products and testing laboratories.
