New Guide Outlines Tests for Antifungal-Treated Articles
A first-of-its-kind ASTM International guide outlines the many test methods used to evaluate the effectiveness of antifungal-treated articles.
While other standards have been developed for antimicrobial-treated articles, the new guide is the first of its kind to focus solely on antifungal test methods, according to member Daniel Price, the director of microbiology at Interface Inc.
He says that the new guide will be a useful resource for manufacturers, laboratories, regulatory bodies, consumers, and others who are interested in knowing the full range of standardized anti-fungal tests available for a certain product or application.
The guide overviews ASTM International — and other — test methods related to antifungal activity and susceptibility. The standard (soon to be published as E3152) was developed by ASTM International’s committee on pesticides, antimicrobials, and alternative control agents (E35).
