Security Engineering Symbols

ASTM International Committee F12 on Security Systems and Equipment invites all interested parties to participate in the current revision of F967, Practice for Security Engineering Symbols. The standard is under the jurisdiction of Subcommittee F12.10 on Systems, Products and Services.

According to Ed Conrath, senior principal, Protection Engineering Consultants, and F12 committee chairman, F967 is being revised to incorporate the latest security symbols used in the engineering and security industry. "Anyone interested is invited to send new symbols or revisions to existing symbols for possible incorporation into the standard," Conrath says. Conrath says that high resolution files (at least 300 dpi) may be forwarded to Joseph Hugo, ASTM staff manager for F12, by July 31, at jhugo@astm.org.
