Symposium on Balancing Resiliency, Safety, and Sustainability
ASTM International’s committee on sustainability (E60) is sponsoring the symposium on Balancing Resiliency, Safety, and Sustainability, October 13, at the Sheraton New Orleans, Louisiana, U.S.A. The symposium will take place in conjunction with the October standards development meetings of the committee.
This symposium provides a forum for contributing to the fundamental understanding of contributions of materials and systems to the resiliency and safety of the built environment and its relationship to sustainability. The symposium will address topics related to sustainability including:
- Natural disasters;
- Material and system contributions to resiliency;
- Design considerations;
- Building in the sustainability era;
- Life-cycle considerations; and,
- Public policy considerations related to building for resiliency.
